On the surface, TRIM may look like an absolute blessing, but there's one downside (or upside, depending on how you look at things) that hasn't been looked into much, if at all. Thanks to how TRIM purges the data when a file is deleted or the drive is formatted, typical data recoveries are impossible, and due to the absolute effectiveness of the command, even forensic recovery can hit a brick wall.
